Fes day trips

I am an official tour guide in Morocco. My name is Hamid Dandane and I will be delighted yo show you my home city Fes Medina with a big pleasure.

Fes is the third  largest city in Morocco and also known as one of the ancient imperial cities. The  Medina (oldest part of the city) is believed to be the largest medina in the whole of Morocco ( a city within a city)

After meeting you in your hotel, we will start touring the medina . We will pass through the Bab Boujeloud gate, with its decoration of blue and green tiles. Bab Boujloud is the main entrance to the medina. After that, we will explore the medina’s narrow streets lined with local shops and stalls of fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other Moroccan handicrafts and home goods. Fès has two main streets, “Rue Talaa Kebira “ and the “Rue Talaa Seghira “ which are utilized as the main throughways when exploring the medina- and the mysterious maze-like streets in between.

The Fès medina is a labyrinth of sloping, winding alleyways are crammed full of stalls and workshops. This area is known as the famed Kissaria -the commercial center. A multitude of locally produced goods are on sale including cotton fabric, silk, brocade work, slippers, and many more. Each district in the Fès Medina produces its own specialty goods: cobalt blue enameled pottery, carpets.

The highlights of the medina to visit are:
1: Bab Boujloud ( The blue gate)
2: The Bouanania Mederssa.
3: The Tomb of Moulay Idriss ( the founder of the city).
4: The Nejarrine Square.

7: The tanneries Chouarra.
8: The Seffarine Square.
9: The Al Karaouiene mosque ( the oldest functionning and operating university ).
10 : The Sebaghine ( the market of the dyers).

The trip timing:

The trip cost :
It will cost you 50 $ for 2 people .
