Everest Base Camp Trek via Salleri is the less explored trail to reach the Everest Base Camp. In this trek we follow the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay who summited Mount Everest in 1953 for the first time. This is an epic trail initially called Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek in which we drive to Salleri instead of flying to Lukla from Kathmandu. We go for a sightseeing tour of UNESCO listed world heritage sites in Kathmandu and relax for a night before driving to Salleri. On Day 3 we drive from Kathmandu to Salleri for 8 hours and begin trekking from there. Along the way there is a chance to soak up local food and culture and sleep in traditional, warm and friendly tea houses run by Sherpa families. After getting to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar wel walk back downhill and fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu.
